Rugby Australia’s Three Strike Policy is a framework aimed at promoting good conduct and maintaining a high standard of behaviour within the sport, both on and off the field. The policy applies to all levels of rugby, including community rugby, and is designed to address breaches of discipline, whether they occur during matches, training, or in the broader community. Under the policy, players or individuals can receive strikes for actions such as foul language, violent conduct, or other behaviors that negatively impact the reputation of the sport. A player or participant (including a Club) who accumulates three strikes may face consequences ranging from suspension to exclusion from the sport, depending on the severity of the breaches. This system encourages players to uphold integrity, respect, and sportsmanship, ensuring a positive environment for everyone involved in rugby.
